Mature Driver Review

Vic Attwood has completed his Mature Driver Review with IAM Roadsmart and passed with flying colours!

Having passed his test 70 years ago (when the cost of a test was only £1) Vic decided to take the review in order to prove to his wife that she didn’t always have to keep him right while they were out driving!

Vic has seen a lot of changes in his time on the road, when he was learning to drive the highway code included all the hand signals for horse and cart drivers and you had to know what they meant in case you met one.

When Vic took his test he had to demonstrate all of the hand signals that a car driver had to know too – not sure how many people would be able to that today as this requirement was removed from the test in 1975.

Vic became an HIAM member 15 years ago and it’s nice to see that at the young age of 88 his driving standards are still on point!

Well done Vic!!
